Welcome to WhatsLocal.ie! I’m Kellie, a mum of two who has lived in Bailieborough for the last 25 years. The idea for this platform came from my own frustration. Like many parents, I was spending way too much time scrolling through endless Facebook groups, checking noticeboards, and asking around to find activities for my daughter. If you didn’t already know what was happening, finding local classes or events felt like a real treasure hunt.
After hearing about another small business closing down, I knew something had to change. There are so many wonderful classes and activities happening in our local community, but they’re hard to find unless you know where to look. That’s why I created WhatsLocal.ie—to make it easier for people like you to connect with local businesses, and for those businesses to be seen by the people they serve.
Our Mission
WhatsLocal.ie isn’t just another listing site. It’s about building connections and strengthening our community. The site allows local businesses to showcase their offerings in one easy-to-find place. As a parent, I know how valuable time is, and this platform helps you discover what’s on locally without all the hassle of endless searches.
One thing that sets us apart is our focus on community. A basic listing on WhatsLocal.ie is free because I believe in supporting the small businesses that keep our towns buzzing with life. I want people to know that there’s so much happening right in our own neighborhoods, and that supporting local isn’t just a catchphrase—it’s what keeps these activities alive.
Our Vision
My hope is that WhatsLocal.ie becomes the go-to platform for anyone looking to find classes and activities—whether it’s for your kids or yourself. Time is precious, and no one should have to waste it hunting for information. I see this growing not just in this part of Cavan, but expanding to cover all of Cavan and beyond.
